For over a quarter of a century,
James was the business community’s preeminent advocate as Senior
Vice President of Government Relations at Wisconsin Manufacturers
and Commerce, the states most influential business association. In
that capacity he managed the organization’s legislative, legal,
political and communications programs. His current public affairs
practice enjoys a strategic relationship with the Hamilton
Consulting Group, one of Wisconsin’s largest lobbing
organizations. James is a graduate of the University of
Wisconsin – Madison with degrees in history and law. He is
a member of both the American and Wisconsin Bar
Associations.

EFFECTIVE


James lead the lobbying effort on
some of the most significant policy accomplishments of the last
three decades. Combining coalition building, grass roots
organizing, media relations and paid advertising he spearheaded
efforts to cut taxes, reform regulation and reduce litigation. He
also successfully managed an effective political action program
that raised and spent more than $30 million over the last ten years
to help elect pro- business candidates for governor, attorney
general, supreme court and the legislature.
